Great work. However I can’t seem to get past the loading screen (XMPlayer logo and a spinning icon), I have a .avi file on the usbpen (fat32), and some video files on my external (ntfs), the controller isn’t responding, maybe because I can’t get past the loading screen. Is there a specific way the partitions should be? (tried directly from Xell and dashlaunch 3.01)

Solved my problem, it’s how windows formats or how the partition gets detected, however using FAT32 Format, it now works However my 2,5", which is a external USB-HD, doesn’t get recognized, but I think it’s because it doesn’t have enough power (the LED is on, but no spinning), it uses only 1 usb port and no external power source.

j ai relancé le meme test, lanchement par dashlaunch meme bug.

if anything good to say about the error in the logo of mplayer and its never start .. i solve this creating the partition of the usb key in fat 32 but in linux .. if i create the fat 32 partition in windows the player never start..

Tried with 1GB USB pen, 4GB TDK USB pen, always same thing. Stuck at loading disc animation screen.

I had problem playing videos.
The program GUI runs perfectly until I play a video. The sound work perfectly, and the subtitle is ok, the subtitle color is also OK. but there’s huge problem with the the video itself and the program OSD is also messed up I provided picture of the screen and mediainfo log of the file I used, I tried two files and it’s the same
USB HDD / Installation on the root of the USB HDD / FAT32 / HDMI Cable / Trinity / RGH / DVD Drive connected / No Kinect / Wired Controller
The 720p .mkv file that had the blury pink screen before, like in Max’s screenshot, now works. However the .avi file (480p) that worked before now gives me a red screen with numbers.
Hey ced2911 i also tried the new ELF no more rainbow screen but i did notice if you play an h.264 file open the menu and return to GUI then try to load another h.264 file xmplayer crashes to a red xell stack dump screen just thought i would report it. one more thing it could be just me but i think the audio is playing a few milliseconds off it is just barely noticeable to me but the wife pointed it out great work and i cant wait to see future improvements

ok so what happens is i load xmplayer select a h.264 mkv hit b to open the menu and select return to gui then load another video ( any video file seems to do it ) and stack dump screen i have confirmed this on both my RGH Trinity and my xenon Jtag. as for the syncing issue i set audio delay to 100ms and all video files play in sync. if you need me to i can upload a video of this error for you
for the fix it’s a wrong value in mpalyer config files, instead of quit it should got next file pt_step something like that, i’ll correct it for next release
i’ll will update github only with release or stable version
Hi Ced2911, I’m loving the application, I’ve been wanting something like this but my coding skills aren’t sufficient, anyways I like to share my experiences:
As Mentioned before:
- Exiting video with B and launching a new one causes red screen stack dump (press Y twice to avoid this)
- Subtitles aren’t scaling and they are like super small in 1080p
My Personal experience:
I must add +300ms to the audio delay in order to sync the audio in most if not all videos I’ve played (mkv, various codecs with *.srt subtitles)
And they funky color video play is fixed with the file you provided in the chat.
I have a problem with your program, is that when playing the files, I can’t see any kind of menu, for example i can’t exit de movie to the principal menu. I tried pressing all the buttons on the controller, but nothing. I have the xmplayer on the internal hard drive. The nmovies are on the external hd usb on ntfs.

i used a plug and play charge cable and a 360 controller with no batteries ( as i dont have a true wired controller) and like i said seems to function ok
as for your menu not coming up try installing the xmplayer files to the root of your USB drive i do believe it has been stated in order for xmplayer to function properly all player related files need to be on the root of your usb. you can launch vid s that are stored on internal HDD but not the program it self (yet)
so after a few days with this as my exclusive media player i got a few more bugs to report
1. after you play 3 or 4 videos the GUI Freezes and you cannot load another movie
2.if you have a lot of folders on your external drive the GUI will sometimes glitch displaying folder paths ( if you press and hold down it will go A-S pressing right gets me down to Video folder when that happens)
3. Changed Exit action to Shutdown and now i can’t get it to exit properly ( maybe add a exit button to GUI?)

2) I could run xmplayer in a usb stick but got stuck in another usb stick (isn’t that strange?). As adviced, I formatted it with fat32format and voila, it works OK now! thanks
3) After booting with one usb stick, i can not open files on a different stick (or usb hard drive)? Not possible yet or is it me?
4) Would love to be able to change subtitle size and colour (usually white blends with background). I think, if possible, "Change aspect ratio" could be useful too.

Every item I play just crashes the xbox with a segfault. (avi – xvid, mp4 – unk, mkv – h.264)
Any ideas?
My setup:
No DVD Drive connected! (this might just be the cause)
Falcon JTAG
60GB internal
No usb devices connected
Wireless Controller
No Kinect
All media files are stored on the HDD, partition 1.

I really can’t get this to work. Tried in every USB port already, never booted.
Always stucks at the disc animation screen, and stays there.
Config: Xbox 360 Slim Trinity, Dashlaunch 2.32, Xell Reloaded v0.991, Ext HDD USB Toshiba 750GB (2 partitions, 1-FAT32, 2-NTFS)
Also tried with USB PEN 1GB, USB PEN 4GB, SD CARD 4GB… Nothing works… With the SD CARD I even got "Segmentation error" and red screen…

stuck on loading/logo screen, tried two fat32 formatted sticks, no go… rgh1 on jasper, no controller, no kinect, no dvd connected. xell 0.991
oh i forgot – its 512mb bb jasper
didn’t have the issues with usb stick so i can’t fixe it yet, also for wired controller i can’t do anything because i don’t have one too

you do you leave the video ? it’s when selecting the vidéo ? i can’t reproduce the bug here

do Y (2 or 3 time) to display the osd bar and select the last icon
for the audio delay try to enable vsync ?
y button exit does let me switch without crash….wonder why the b button OSD menu exit makes it crash?
i actually fixed the audio delay by going into the b button osd menu
then going into pref, then audio and adjusted the delay there by +100ms
oh i found something else too subtitle scaling isn’t working ATM (mine are very tiny lol)
this works soo much better than ffplay
please keep your github up to date on fixes i would love to stay as up to date as possible on this project

Does the program or libxenon have a debug option/log? If so, wouldn’t it be useful to post those instead of inaccurate descriptions?

tried that out wired controller fix and it seems to work ok
My controller is wireless, i tried the fix, and don’t work with my controller
that only for wired controler fix, not for usb mounting bug or anything else
